The Quarry

The Quarry project started 6 years ago when Dylan’s curiosity started to thrive whilst studying horticulture at TAFE. The garden was established through the construction of sandstone terraces and the planting of an eclectic mix of functional, exotic, and native plants.

The project’s use of local sandstone earns its name, The Quarry.

The Quarry is a time capsule showcasing Dylan’s passion for horticulture and design. As the slope ascends so does the quality of work.

Once the home garden was completed in 2021, the Goodearl family began regenerating the local bushland that neighbors the Quarry. The mission is to bring back the native Blue Fairy Ren to the area. Over 120 endemic plants have been planted in this space and much labour has gone into reducing the severity of the slope through, terracing, biomass production, and planting bank stabilizing species.

It’s a slow fight to restore biodiversity but it’s one worth sweating for.
